Founder of Gracious Role Models, Myra Monroe, has provided the girls at Bethel a unique opportunity since 2016, inviting them to learn about self worth and confidence, complete with a runway show for their friends and teachers.
Gracious Role Models is a program that teaches young ladies etiquette and self confidence. Most importantly, Myra reminds girls that they are worthy in the eyes of the Lord. Over 30 years ago Myra started Gracious Role Models in a time of grief as a way to honor her late sister. “I wanted to make my life really purposeful,” Myra explained. “God led me down the path to be able to do this.”
Every Spring, Myra invites a new group of girls from Bethel to come to her class. In addition to one of the most exciting enrichment opportunities for the girls at Bethel, Myra has described this program as equally fulfilling for herself. “The personal relationships with the girls has been so meaningful, its hard to put words on it.”
Myra’s motivation to continue ministry work with Bethel has continued from witnessing life changing moments with the girls. “To see the confidence in their eyes is so inspiring,” Myra exclaimed. After 32 years, Myra says she has no plans to give up her work with Gracious Role Models. “God is not through with me yet.”
