The Mission of the Back on Track program is to provide a Christ-centered
environment that supports the resident and family’s development, teaches
independence, responsibility, and accountability in a structured, loving
environment, to give hope and a new vision for life.
WHO WE HELP
The Back on Track program is for boys ages 14 to 17 that have a pattern of impulsive behavior, difficulty maintaining self-control, struggle to respect authority figures, and/or have runaway tendencies. Some boys may also have a record of minor criminal behavior such as vandalism, curfew violation, truancy, or theft.
HOW WE HELP
This program includes residential care along with enrollment to our campus school, Bethel Christian Academy. The child will also attend Sunday Church services with their house parents and the other boys in their cottage. Our residential staff develops an individual program plan for each boy that focuses on their spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, and emotional needs. They use a structured motivational program to encourage the child to develop skills in self-management, interacting appropriately with others, and owning responsibility.
FAMILY INVOLVEMENT
During the child’s time at Bethel, the parent/guardian retains legal custody. Families or legal guardians visit and call their children on a regular basis. Children go home two weekends a month and longer visits during school breaks. In addition, they attend all meetings, counseling sessions, and parent education classes. They also maintain contact with houseparents and social workers while working to reunite as a family. Our staff works closely with each family toward the goal of the child finishing their program within 9 to 12 months.
